6. Cycling in high altitude
When you are above 2000 m.a.s.l you may feel the lack of oxygen and suffer what is commonly known as “ Apunamiento or Soroche “ ( high altitude sickness). If you have planned to visit high altitude areas and you have no previous experience , we recommend that you do it slowly so your body can adapt. We have organized our tours so cyclists can adapt without any inconveniences . Prior to departure we recommend that you consult your doctor , have a blood test to check if you are suffering from anemia and an electrocardiogram.
