| 6. Cycling in high altitude
When you are above 2000 m.a.s.l you may
feel the lack of oxygen and suffer what is commonly known as “ Apunamiento
or Soroche “ ( high altitude sickness). If you have planned to visit
high altitude areas and you have no previous experience , we recommend
that you do it slowly so your body can adapt. We have organized our tours
so cyclists can adapt without any inconveniences . Prior to departure
we recommend that you consult your doctor , have a blood test to check
if you are suffering from anemia and an electrocardiogram.
