4. What kind of bike do I need
Depending on the route , you can use a mountain bike or a hybrid (wheel nbr 27 or 28) . It is important that it has gears and that it is in perfect mechanical conditions . A thorough check up service is recommended. Also it is importantant that it is comfortable and that the cyclist gets used to the bike before the trip. Never try adding new gear or changing parts without testing them whith enough time prior to the tour.
There is no need for competition bikes nor shocks . If your bike does have shocks we recommend that you avoid cheap ones otherwise it is best not to have them. A steel frame bike is more than enough . We always recommend that you ask about the road conditions so you can have the correct tyres and avoid extra strain.
